2015 GRO WINES Cabernet Sauvignon, Henry Brothers Vineyard
The 2015 vintage from Henry Brothers Vineyard is an intense year from an intense site. Cabernet Sauvignon lovers will rejoice in this rich, inky, wine from a vintage that developed during the end of the drought years, when vines had to push through the red, volcanic soil to find water and nutrients in order to survive. Tonnage was extremely light this year, on average 10 clusters per vine, so get this wine while you can.
2016 GRO WINES Chardonnay, Ruhl Vineyard
This vineyard is like no other Chardonnay in the entire Napa Valley. On the border of Carneros and Mt. Veeder appellations, this hillside chardonnay comes together from three different aspects: flat, northern facing, and eastern facing. The cooler marine influences from the San Pablo bay give the chance for the layered, delicate flavors of Chardonnay to slowly develop, while still taking advantage of the intensity from growing at elevation.
2014 GRO WINES Cabernet Sauvignon, Henry Brothers Vineyard
This new vineyard addition to the Howell Mountain appellation is already getting quite the buzz for the wines produced from its red, rocky soils and unique eastern facing exposure. Sitting above the fog line most days, the grapes grown here are tough, intense, and expressive of this small appellation in the eastern hills of Napa Valley.
